The best session of the Charlotte VMUG was the vExpert Panel discussion, chaired by Rich Brambley of VMetc.com (@rbrambley). The panel of experts was Chad Sakac of EMC (@sakacc), Vaugh Stewart of NetApp (@vstewed), Scott Lowe of EMC (@scott_lowe), and Mike Laverick of RTFM-Ed.co.uk (@Mike_Laverick).
In the video, you will see that the conversation eventually goes to the new vStorage API for Array Integration (VAAI) where the experts really share some amazing new features of how the new line of storage will be assisting the virtualization platform such as being able to perform VMotion in the storage HW. Also, the experts discuss what vBlock is and we get the opinion of Vaugh’s NetApp on why they don’t feel that they need to come up with a “nBlock” (or whatever you would call it).
Exciting stuff! I can’t wait until VMworld!
