I was granted access to Solarwinds demo system to play around with the latest version of Solarwinds Virtualization Manager – version 4.0. This is actually a new version of Hyper9 Manager as Solarwinds recently acquired them.
I had looked at this tool in the past and was impressed with what the new version now offers. Besides the “Google-like search function” for your vSphere infrastructure, Virtualization Manager offers capacity planning, performance monitoring, VM Sprawl, configuration management, & chargeback/showback. I like that it can offers real-world practical info such as finding performance bottlenecks and telling you how much capacity you have remaining.
You can access the same demo environment I used, download a free trial, and learn more about what it can do at Solarwind’s -Virtualization Homepage.
Virtualization manager is deployed as a virtual appliance and the starting price of $2995 supports up to 50 powered on virtual machines.
