I just received a great new VMware vSphere book in the mail today – VMware ESX and ESXi in the Enterprise by Edward Haletky (aka @TexiWill on Twitter or the VMware Community). I know that Ed has poured his heart, soul, and virtualization intelligence into this book as he updated it to its second edition. It now includes vSphere 4.1 and is available in an electronic version FREE when you purchase the book (that is cool, I plan to take advantage of that). Ed is a super-smart guy so I am sure that this is one of the top vSphere books you’ll find! I’m excited to get started reading it. Charles Windom (of VMware) and Hemant Gaidhani have a very cool new book coming out entitled Virtualizing Microsoft Tier 1 Applications with VMware vSphere. Besides the fact that I have met Charles (and he is super-smart) I think that this is a very important topic that hasn’t gotten enough coverage. The book gods have blessed me today! Look what the guy in the brown truck brought me!

That’s right, it’s Scott Lowe’s new Mastering VMware vSphere 4! If vSphere had a “bible”, this would be it. Scott covers vSphere from every direction and by the time you are done reading it, I am sure that you will be a “master” (certainly some hands-on practice of the stuff in the book would help).

Awesome New Book – VMware VI3 Implementation and Administration by Eric Siebert

As you can see from the photo, I just received my copy of Eric Siebert’s new book – VMware VI3 Implementation and Administration. I got an early chance to read part of this book and offer a quote for the praise page. Here’s what I had to say about it:
